Exploring the Gender of Angels in Their Appearances 2-10-26

Angels are spirits that were called in the Old Testament the sons of God:

Now it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born to them,  that the sons [angels] of God saw the daughters of men, that they were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves of all whom they chose (Genesis 6:1-4, Job 1:6, 2:1). Be careful not to get them mixed up with evil spirits; the ones who rebelled and fell with Lucifer became God’s adversaries (enemies).

And war broke out in heaven: 

Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought,  but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer. So, the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him (Revelation 12:7-9 ) with Lucifer  (Isaiah 14:12-15), Lucifer, the morning star became Satan, God’s enemy and ours too; he and the other demons are the ones who influence harass and afflict us.

But the second host of angels who rebelled, are chained up. And the angels who did not keep their proper domain, but left their own abode, He has reserved in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of the great day (Jude 1:6). If they were still on the earth everything would be in total chaos.

God gave angels (His sons) the ability to take on different forms- depending on the person’s need because they are ministering spirits. However,  some of them committed an atrocious act by taking on the form of a man, married human females (the daughters of men)-went totally against the nature of God; they were never created to have sex (Genesis 6:1-4).

Angels are great in statute:

Their children also became giants. And they gave the children of Israel a bad report of the land which they had spied out, saying, “The land [Canaan] through which we have gone as spies is a land that devours its inhabitants, and all the people whom we saw in it are men of great stature.  There we saw the giants (the descendants of Anak came from the giants); and we were like^[ grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight (Numbers 13:32-33).

That’s why when they appeared to people and said, “Fear not” (Luke 1:11-12).

Further proof that angels are revealed in the masculine gender- Now the two angels came to Sodom in the evening, and Lot was sitting in the gate of Sodom. When Lot saw them, he rose to meet them, and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground. And he said, “Here now, my lords, please turn into your servant’s house and spend the night, and wash your feet; then you may rise early and go on your way.”

Now before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Sodom, both old and young, all the people from every quarter, surrounded the house. And they called to Lot and said to him, “Where are the men [angels] who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us that we may know them carnally.” [to have sex with them] (Genesis 19:1-2, 4-5).

God is Spirit; He has no gender, but He is always addressed in the masculine gender.

There are only four names of angels mentioned in the Bible, and all are  masculine -Lucifer who became Satan, Michael the arch (warrior) angel and Gabriel the (announcer-messenger from thee Lord) angel was sent to give messages to people.

There is not one scripture of angels appearing in the feminine gender.
