Feeling Guilty? Condemning Yourself? 9-28-26

Where or who does condemnation come from?

I was reading Charles Stanley’s “In Touch Daily Living” and it really perked up my interest. It was referring to “Guilt” and what it is. I will use a snippet from the reading to bring about my point.

Charles Stanley-

What is guilt? What does this mean for the believer? We should already know that we’ve been found guilty. However Jesus Christ took that guilt upon Himself at the cross, and He paid our debt in full. If the debt has been paid and we’ve been released from the charge, then we’re no longer guilty. We’ve declared forgiven.

I will be adding to what may have been posted previously but just going another with it. “In Touch” used this scripture that many use today and believe that Christians still fall short of God’s glory (Romans 3:23). I have written several times that have fallen short is past tense. And why would Paul this is the very next verse: being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus (Romans 3:24).

Once we reach a certain level of maturity, it becomes more understandable about feeling guilty and especially to the point when we don’t allow that guilt to take over, but we ask the Lord to help us or forgive us for not letting the guilt go. We must be careful not to allow Satan bring us into condemnation-  

Consequently, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.  For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death (Romans 8:1-2)- [Lexam English Bible] 

The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 15:56-57). If you have been set free from sin and death, how can you still be a sinner?

Sin is bondage (condemnation)- Why did Jesus die for your sins if you are still a sinner? I pray that pastors, all other leaders and all the children of God will come into the knowledge of truth pertaining to salvation and how no one can be a sinner and a saint at the same time. We fall into sin, but we are not sinners.

For a righteous man may fall seven times and rise again, (Proverbs 24:16a). How can we be righteous and unrighteous at the same time? Righteous people are in right standing with God.

If you were convicted of a crime and the judge declared you not guilty, you can never be charged for that crime again. Once we have the righteousness of Christ, we are sealed and nothing can change that. In other words, God the Judge used Christ our Lawyer (Advocate) to pay the penalty of sin that was upon us and we are declared not guilty.

When one doesn’t have a true meaning of their relationship with Christ, they ignorantly open the door for Satan’s influence and attacks. This is the very reason why new believers and even those who have been saved for some time need the first principles, the elementary of the Word so they can grow. Otherwise, they are shifting on the foundation.
