Wonderfully and Fearfully Made by God 9-30-26
Why are you trying be someone other than who God made you to be?
I see all these different images that people change themselves into to make themselves look more beautiful; that is, so they think. They could just be doing something like playing a game or so on. However, if these people are not pleased with they way they look, they don’t understand that God made them the way they are for a purpose. There is an exception that I will get to.
This is what David knew about the God that he belonged to: For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well (Psalm 139:13-14).
God said this when He created everything: Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So, the evening and the morning were the sixth day (Genesis 1:31).
Created for good works- For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them (Ephesians 2:10). How are you going to do good works in Christ Jesus if you’re not satisfied with the way God made you?
Exception- flawed because of sin; Adam’s or genetic or even what the person is doing when she is carrying the child in her womb; what is spoken over the child. It was never God’s fault!
Confession:
There was a time that I didn’t like the way I looked for a few reasons. Male pattern baldness (alopecia), wore wigs for about fifty years, became tired, and had my head shaved, got many compliments from some people.
Then, I started wearing headwraps and they have been a part of my life for more than eleven years. The Lord has blessed me to coordinate the headwraps with my wardrobe. A couple of years ago, I tried wearing a wig again and did not feel comfortable. Maybe one day, I’ll try wearing wigs again.
I said all that to say this; I now know who I am in Christ and understand that God fearfully and wonderfully made me and I am His masterpiece. Therefore, I have been set free from the devil’s lies; telling me that I don’t look good, and because of my freedom there is nothing that needs to be changed about me.
“I am a beautiful brown skin seasoned saint, and I am proud to be fearfully and wonderfully made by God!
Three words explained:
1) Fearfully- God is in awe at what He created!
2) Wonderfully – God marvels at His creation!
3) Workmanship -We are God’s masterpieces!
Why are we all these things to God? He made us in His own image; we are the highest form of His creation.
FYI- It’s the inward man that matters: One can be possess beauty on the outside and be ugly on the inside. Be the beauty that God made you on the inside and let it flow to the outside!
