God’s Word is Quick, Powerful and Sharper Than a Two Edged Sword 9-25-26

In closing this week’s messages, I am placing emphasis on the powerful Word of God along with the Holy Spirit and how some people of God are convinced to turn from their ungodly ways.

For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart (Hebrews 4:12).

It is time to warn some who are stuck and have not grown spiritually, and they are not open to the truth; and to those who do not have much knowledge of God’s Word (some think they do and that is pride which indicates they are immature.  

Because of various reasons, some will not endure sound doctrine, and we are definitely living in those days.

I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom:  Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season.

Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all long suffering and teaching.  For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers;  and they will turn their ears away from the truth and be turned aside to fables.  But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry (2 Timothy 4:1-5).

Strong’s concordance- a myth; a false account yet posing to be the truth; a fabrication (fable) which subverts (replaces) what is actually true.

Brothers and sisters, I am ready in and out of season (no comfort zone for me) to preach the Word of God to whomever and wherever He sends me (Isaiah 6:8). I have been charged by God to convince others in whatever way is necessary for them to have an intimate relationship (there’s a difference between relationship and being intimate). Intimacy is being really close, so close like John was the beloved was – laying his head on Jesus’ bosom (John 13:23).

Rebuke- this means to correct something or somebody who is wrong.

Exhort – this has to do with encouraging others to move forward in their walk with Christ and to commend them for conducting themselves on how their lights shine so bright (Matthew 5:13-16). 

I have no doubt that those who know me also know that I am so serious about my walk that it is evidenced for all to see; all praises, honor, and glory to the Lord God Almighty. Yet, like Paul the flesh is still doing whatever to war against my spirit. For instance, when I would do right evil is present (Romans 7:18-19). Nevertheless. My heart’s desire is to please the Lord with my whole being.

In exhorting, I must remember what level the people are on and be patient with all the different personalities and teach them on their level as Jesus taught principles to the disciples. He used what they were accustomed to and brought out a spiritual meaning.

Example- Jesus used the example of farmers or fisherman (something they could identify with) to help them to understand because that was what they understood. He gave them a deeper understanding in the spiritual realm.

Endure Sound doctrine – many Christians are still babies and listen to whatever comes along; this deception from the devil. They are tossed here and there with all kinds of doctrine; which leaves them confused (James 1:2-8). Therefore, they turn their ears from the truth.

Regardless of what comes or go, I will be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, and fulfill my ministry.

I pray for the body of Christ to be spiritually enlightened.
