Yesterday, I requested prayer because of the Lasik procedure that was being performed to remove scar tissue from my left eye. On November first, scar tissue was removed from my right eye, and it went so smoothly that I agreed to have the other eye done due to the advice of the ophthalmologist.
I had not planned to ask for prayer from my Facebook family and friends, but I felt prompted to do so. My prayer group and Bible study had already been praying; and I always feel blessed and confident that their prayers are answered.
I believe the Lord wanted me to request prayer by way of social media is to share with you what I went through and how the Lord prevailed.
First of all, this doctor has satellite offices in different townships, and this location is where patients from the other offices have procedures done. It was not crowded yesterday, but other things were going on that caused a delay for my procedure. After five different drops were put in my eye (one after the other), I had to wait thirty minutes because one of the drops was to numb the eye.
Then it was time for the procedure, and when the doctor started, he said the eye had not dilated enough, so there was another waiting period. I felt like there was such a ball of confusion, that I was beginning to get antsy (agitated, impatient, or restless). It was time for the doctor to try the procedure again and this time it worked, and it only took three minutes, praise the Lord. I must thank my wonderful niece who drove me to have the procedure done.
This is the second part of the story: A bus ride had been scheduled yesterday at five o’clock for us seniors to go to different townships to see the beautiful Christmas lights. I had asked the doctor a couple of weeks ago if I would be able to take the ride, and he said yes. I went and it was such blessing. Camden County is so gracious to us at the Lindenwold Senior center.
When we were picked up and got seated on the bus, they passed out hot chocolate, candy cane, cookies, and a nice green throw blanket. Later, they gave us a bag with a sandwich, an apple, chips, and water, and someone shared a box of chocolate candy.
Well folks, that’s my story. Thanks again for your love and prayers.
To all of you who request prayers through Facebook, keep doing it; and to each of you who take prayer seriously and have a heart to intercede and stand in the gap on behalf of others, keep on praying.
Grateful.
