Headed in the Right Direction?

The Narrow Gate and the Broad Way

This is just another of the few scriptures I have written about that have been misinterpreted; and sadly, by many Bible scholars and other leaders.

Therefore, it is understandable why some of these peoples’ followers feel the scriptures are correct. This is the very reason we are  told to study the scriptures for ourselves (2 Timothy 2:15).

By the time you finish reading this message, think about this; does it make sense, or if it doesn’t make sense.

The scripture - Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it (Matthew 7:13-14).

Since Jesus is teaching about the two ways, He is saying, You enter in the narrow gate, even though it is difficult, it is the best way, He goes on to tell them that few choose the difficult way. The wide gate leads to destruction, which means to suffer loss. That means to lose reward because the wide way is the world’s way. In other words, it is like the Isley Brothers song “It’s Your Thing, Do What You Want to Do”

It doesn’t work that way with God. For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him (2 Corinthians 5:21).This means that God has positioned us in righteousness, therefore, we should walk in righteousness (practice it).

Carnal Christians take the wide road because it looks easy and exciting, but there are eternal consequences for having our own way.

The “Sold Out” Christian’s life is not easy; hard trials and tribulations, persecution and all manner of evil said against these Christians (Matthew 5:10-12), yet in the end it is worth every sacrifice, pain, and suffering, because the eternal rewards are great!

What would you rather do, have it your way, or God’s way. Your way is the Broad (wide) way; God’s way is the Narrow gate- there are two roads, the choice is yours.
