How to Study the Bible (Word of God) 5-7-25

I have known for many years that the way to clearly understand the Word of God, is to know the verses before and after a specific verse. Also, interpreting properly is necessary within the proper context.

We must know the language and culture of the people, who the Lord is speaking to, and what principles we can from the Old Testament.

What the Word is saying and what it is not saying, and does it make sense or not.

King James is the one that keep close by when reading others. However, due to the Old English translation from Aramaic, Hebrew and Greek, some meaning of certain words are not understandable.

Also, there are some misprints. Does that mean that the Spirit of God who inspired holy men to write the Bible made a mistake? Of course not! To me, it means that our Holy Father allowed it to happen to reveal that human beings make undeliberate errors.

These are a couple of examples of errors or misprints:

The Holy Spirit – KJV [it]  The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: (Romans 8:16).  Likewise, the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered (Romans 8:26).

I have several King James Versions, but the Scofield is the main one that is used when reading and studying the Word. And it is the only one in my possession that has Holy Spirit inserted in the margin.

NKJV- The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God (Romans 8:16).  Likewise, the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered (Romans 8:26).

As it is written, “Jacob I have loved, but Esau I have hated (Romans 9:13). God hated Esau? If that were true it would be a contradiction-

God loves everybody- He is LOVE: For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16). He even loves those who are not saved.

The paragraphs above are a couple of examples to help you to be more keen on reading and studying. There have been several instances that the readers have been encouraged to the readers to think about this: “Does it make sense?” or “That just doesn’t make sense” In doing so, you will have reasoned things out and it helps to have a better understanding.

And make sure you know the history.

I pray that this will be an eye opener to help as you continue to search for more truths of the Word of God.
