I Am NOT Ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ! 10-1-25

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek (Romans 1:16).

The Jews were extended salvation first because the were God’s chosen people, but  He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:  who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God (John 1:11-13). Then the Gospel of Jesus Christ went out to the Gentiles.

That’s Gospel! Now what is this salvation? It is in three tenses- Past, Present, and Future

1) Past- We have been delivered from the penalty and guilt of sin. What was the penalty? We were guilty, and the penalty was death,  but Christ our Advocate (lawyer) took our guilt away and God the Judge declared us to be innocent of the crime (our sins against Him). For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are  being saved it is the power of God (1 Corinthians 1:18).

Even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),   For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God (Ephesians 2:5, 8). who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began (2 Timothy 1:9).

2) Present -We are being delivered from the habit and  power (dominion) of sin: For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace (Romans 6:14).

Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling (Philippians 2:12). For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death (Romans 8:2).

I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. (Galatians 2:20).

But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as]by the Spirit of the Lord (2 Corinthians 3:18).

3) Future -When we reach heaven we will be free from the presence of sin- no sin in heaven; we will be glorified! (1 John 3:2).

The Divine order is salvation and then works Salvation is by grace through faith; it is a free gifts, and fully without works. (Ephesians 2:8-10). (Titus 3:5-8).

Paul was not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the Gospel was not ashamed of him because he knew how to live and present the Gospel with power and effectiveness. Other than Jesus Himself, Paul is a prime example of walking the walk as well as talking the talk. Paul knew he had accomplished God’s purpose in his life (2 Timothy 4:6-8).

What about you?

Will you be ashamed when Jesus returns, because you didn’t fulfil God’s purpose, and because you didn’t did not present the Gospel effectively?

You can go to church all day long, but if you don’t know to present the Gospel, which is sad. Why? Because Jesus commissioned us to carry His Gospel (Matthew 28:19-20),
