Not every state has elections at the same time; there are state and local that are based on the rules of each state. It is known that a national election is held every four years and all eligible citizens have the right to vote.
Since this is the primary election in the state I reside in, my ballot was mailed in, and I am so grateful for not having to stand in long lines for who knows how long. One of the reasons this message is written today is not just for local and state elections, but to thank the Lord for being privileged to vote.
And I am thankful for the personal decision of voting for the persons of my choice. Why do I vote? Because my forefathers paved the way for our people to have the freedom to vote. Although God already ordained who would be in every office, it is still good to vote because it is our duty.
Someone may say, if the office is ordained by God, why vote? Because our government has guidelines for the citizens to follow, and we are encouraged to vote for the people of our choice, as long as the guidelines are not contrary to the Word of God.
Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. Therefore, whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves (Romans 13:1-2).
Whoever you vote for, it is your choice and not anyone’s else’s business. The best thing to do is not discuss it with others. Now, that is Freedom!
