Whoever is saved will never perish!
Many people and various denominations believe one can lose their salvation. I am going to prove according to the Word of God that once a person is saved (born again), it is forever. First of all, it doesn’t make sense for a loving God to save anyone and then turn around and lose they lose their salvation. That is totally absurd and it is highly indicative of such a silly thing like that to come out of someone’s mouth.
The scripture says: My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand. My Father and I are one (John 10:27-30). That's assurance!
Years ago, I heard someone in ministry say, “You can pluck or snatch yourself out of God’s hand” How in the world can that happen when God is greater than all. That kind of statement is saying that a person is greater than God. Ridiculous! Those who say one can lose their salvation are not reading and studying the scriptures within the proper context. After reading what one person said and the scriptures that were used, it just didn’t make any sense.
We must remember that scriptures support and relate to each other. I am not talking about singling one scripture out; the true meaning is not there. When I hear or read what different people say, they seem to be like the pharisees when Jesus was telling them about Himself and who He was. My point being; Whatever Jesus says I accept it! Although all of the Word is important to me. Remember this, JESUS is THE WORD!
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us (John 1:1-3, 14a).
Not only that, but Jesus is also the only way. Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me (John 14:6). Regardless of what one reads in the scripture, what must be understood is, the entire Bible is about Jesus and what He says is the “core” of everything.
Once that is understood, the basic of Christianity, that Jesus is the Chief Cornerstone of everything, then you can build on that foundation. When that happens, the foundation of Christ will be built on properly. The problem with many people is they want to give the impression that they are more knowledgeable than others, when it comes to the Word of God, when in fact they are much further off than they think they are.
Why is this so?
Because they are leaning to their own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6).
I’m not judging anyone, however when someone says that once saved always is not true, they are discrediting what our Savior did on the cross. On that note- Watch Out! Check this out. Most people acknowledge that there is a God (don’t know what kind), but when the conversation is about Jesus, they don’t want to hear and are not open to the truth about Jesus.
Take away: I do question whether a person is false or true when they are teaching that people can lose their salvation. The Word of God told us to beware of false prophets (Matthew 7:15-20). Bottom line- Only God knows who is His and who is not, and whoever is His remains HIS!
