Some ‘Quote on Quote’ sermons or messages that are coming from the pulpit are absolutely OUTRAGEOUS and  DESPICABLE!

Who gives any preacher the right to preach anything but the preaching of the cross? For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God (1 Corinthians 1:18). These leaders are not modeling Christ. In fact, what they are doing is a shame and disgrace; making a mockery out of God!

They may be saved, but they are acting like those who are perishing. Some people don’t act like they are crucified with Christ- I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me (Galatians 2:20). They are allowing the dictates of the flesh control them.

They are supposed to be teaching and preaching the unadulterated Word of God - not mixed or diluted with any different or extra elements; complete and absolute: instead, they are committing spiritual adultery. It is similar to a spouse cheating on their mate. If there are no moral values how can there be any spiritual values?

Definition of words that are used in this message:

[Cambridge Dictionary -Outrageous means shocking and morally unacceptable, or unusual and strange.

Merriam-Webster- Outrageous means exceeding the limits of what is usual, not conventional, or decent.

Merriam-Webster -Despicable means deserving to be despised, so worthless or obnoxious.

Moral values refer to a set of principles that guide an individual on how to evaluate right versus wrong.

People generally apply moral values to justify decisions, intentions and actions, and it also defines the personal character of a person. An individual with high moral values typically displays characteristics of integrity, courage, respect, fairness, honesty, and compassion]

Back to Betty –

What they are doing is not only outrageous, but they are so despicable that any person who has any spiritual values should despise what they are doing rather than going along with what is being said. Many years ago, I was in a church service and the guest preacher was telling jokes from the pulpit. He was saying how ugly some boy was. He pumped thee audience and when they got quiet, he said something to pump them up again.

When the service was over, several of us were talking and a couple of people brought up mentioned what the preacher said and they thought it was comical and okay. I said: “I don’t see anything funny about what he said”

This is what God did for us: He gave each of us our wonderful personalities, which we cannot change. You may change your outside which is wrong because God meticulously and uniquely designed us (Psalm 139:14; we are His masterpiece (Ephesians 2:10), and our inside cannot be changed.

The difference in our personality and character: God gave us our personality, but our character has to be worked on. We are responsible for how we carry ourselves. It’s time to stop abusing the pulpit, using the podium as if it is a stage to play the role of an actor.

No moral values- what happened to what they wear in the pulpit- The pulpit is for God to be glorified, not with their flare, but with the light of Jesus shining through them (Matthew 5:16).

The way some leaders present themselves is outlandish! I do not want to be connected to a church that does not have spiritual values.

I am careful as to who I listen to or follow. Very seldom am I listening to others because I’m too busy studying for myself (2 Timothy 2:15). Sometimes people will ask me to watch or listen to others so they can know whether it is truth or error.
