I cannot understand how anybody came up with
“I plead the blood of Jesus”
This does not come near to making any sense. My teacher used to say to us “Does it make sense?” How are you going to explain something that does not make sense to you? It certainly will not make sense to anybody else.
I looked and looked and looked; searched and searched and came up with nothing that made sense when it comes to pleading the blood the blood of Jesus. How does God feel about His people saying these foolish things that have nothing to do with His Word? The pharisees added hundreds or possibly thousands of commands to the Word of God. In other words, the written commands were not enough for them.
I am urging you to get into the Word of God for yourself, start prioritizing the Word instead of putting it on the back burner. I implore (beg) you to hide the Word of God in your hearts so you will not sin against the Almighty God (Psalm 119:11), by making false statements that are not in the Word of God.
In the Old Testament, when David asked God to plead his cause, the Holy Spirit nor Jesus had been revealed as Helper and Savior. Remember the Holy Spirit came upon kings, prophets, and priests for certain things to be accomplished. Remember this, no one could have the indwelling of the Holy Spirit until Jesus came on the earth; died and was resurrected from the dead. Therefore, the Old Testament saints had a direct encounter with God. He spoke to His people in different ways.
Example:
Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian. And he led the flock to the back of the desert, and came to Horeb, the mountain of God. And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire from the midst of a bush. So, he looked, and behold, the bush was burning with fire, but the bush was not consumed. Then Moses said, “I will now turn aside and see this great sight, why the bush does not burn.” So, when the Lord saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, “Moses, Moses!” And he said, “Here I am (Exodus 3:1-5).
David communicated with the Lord - Plead my cause, O Lord, with those who strive with me; fight against those who fight against me (Psalm 35:1). In searching out the meaning of plead both Bible concordance and the regular dictionary, they are similar to the judicial system.
Smith's Bible Dictionary Advocate (Jesus) or Paraclete (Holy Spirit – Helper (John 14:16), one that pleads the cause of another.
My little children, I am writing these things to you in order that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an advocate with the Father: Jesus Christ the Righteous (1 John 2:1).
Jesus’s blood does not plead our case; He does; He’s our lawyer (Advocate) in the courtroom, our doctor in the sickroom- With His stripes we are healed (1 Peter 2:24).
My brothers and sisters, it is imperative that you walk in truth!
O' GOD, YOUR WORD IS TRUTH!
