Sin leaves Scars 11-2-24

Yesterday I had the laser procedure done to remove the scar tissue from my right eye, and it went vey well, praise the Lord! This was done so I could see clearly. I asked one of the doctor’s assistant would my vision eventually get worse if the scar tissue was not removed, and she said yes. Isn’t that just like sin, the more we wallow in it, the worse sin gets. That’s why we need to deal with the sin quickly so we can continue in fellowship with Father’ (1 John 1:9).

Scar tissue reminds me of sin that had to be removed. How was our sin removed?  Vision impairment keeps us from seeing clearly. It’s the same in the spiritual realm. We can lose sight of spiritual things. A few thousand years ago, Jesus took our sins by suffering with the scars of sin on the cross.

What Jesus did for us should be a reminder every time we fall into sin.

But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, everyone, to his own way; and the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all (Isaiah 53:5-6). Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed (1 Peter 2:24).

Paul’s prayer for the saints was for their spiritual eyes to be open. The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints (Ephesians 1:18).

My heart’s desire is  to see more clearly; therefore, the plan is for the scar tissue to be removed from the left eye. That will give me 20/20 vision. This is a pivotal point. To see even more clearly, both eyes need to be corrected. That tells me that as long as we are in these flesh bodies we have to deal with sin. The good thing is to know there is a sin issue and we want to deal with so we can continue to grow spiritually.
