The Broad Way and the Straight Gate 9-15-26

Which way are you taking to Heaven?

What does the “Broad Way” mean? Today, I am going to explain what many scholars have said that the “Broad way” leads to hell. Always remember this – who was Jesus talking to? He was talking to His disciples who were called to salvation.

Although they were not truly born again until after was raised from the dead. But the angel answered and said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified.  He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. (Matthew 28:5-6),  which brought in a new and better covenant, they were still covered until His death and resurrection.

The point is, Jesus was talking to those He called, and He said enter, which mean “You enter” a command to travel through the “Straight Gate” which was the narrow way.

Explanation of the “Broad Way”-  

The broad way is going the way of the world, but you’re saved. The reason being, God knew what was going to take place in your life before He predestined you to be saved.

First of all, For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover, whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified (Romans 8:29-30).

Secondly, There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1). Only those who are sinners (unsaved) are condemned.

Explanation of the “Narrow Gate” –

This is narrow because it is a tight squeeze, but because you made the choice to choose to go through the gate, you will be commended by Jesus Himself for being sold out; you didn’t compromise; you purposed in your heart to press toward the mark of the high call of God in Jesus Christ (Philippians 3:14).

You didn’t let the glamour of this world cause you to step aside. You didn’t let persecutions, afflictions, lies, scandalous words change how you were fully persuaded that you were going to hang in there because knew that is a greater reward when you go through and endure for Christ’s sake. You were not ashamed to tell any and everybody that “Jesus saves” to the uttermost.

You knew that those who lived godly would suffer, but that didn’t deter you from your faith. In fact, your faith was ever increasing.  That’s the way people who are “Sold Out” conduct themselves.

There will be no excuses when we stand before Christ to be judged. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that everyone may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad (2 Corinthians 5:10).

So then each of us shall give account of himself to God (Romans 14:12). The old saying: “Every tub must sit on its own bottom”
