I am continuing with the Motivational gifts given by God our Father. Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching (Romans 12:).

Ministry-This is broad and it can include various services that may be similar to the gift of helps which is also broad. Whatever our ministry is, we’re told to wait. Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering (Romans 12:7a).

This is to caution those who did not take the initial steps that Paul urged us to do. I beseech [urge] you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God (Romans 12:1-2). When the step by step process is not taken, your ministry will not have good success.

Teacher – One who is graced to teach, but not the same as the one with the office of teacher. This person is knowledgeable of the Word of God and he or she studies deeply, doing everything possible to avoid teaching errors, knowing that those hold themselves out to be teachers will receive the greater condemnation. My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment (James 3:1).

For if we judge ourselves, we should not be judged. But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world (1 Corinthians 11:31-32). This scripture refers to taking communion unworthily, but it goes beyond that. It is referring to anything that we do that is ungodly. That’s why self examination is so important.

This is something that some people criticize when it comes to judging. They will quickly say the Bible tells us not to judge (Matthew 7:1). That scripture means we can’t judge anyone’s heart since God is the only One who knows the heart of everybody. However, if we are not doing the same thing someone else is doing, we are allowed to judge our brothers and sisters actions.

I saw something recently where people who are in ministry were actually participating in something worldly, that’s why the Bible cautions us to separate ourselves from ungodliness (2 Corinthians 6:17).

We are in the world to be lights to the unsaved, not act like they act, because we are not of the world.

Back to teaching and desiring not to teach erroneously, the teacher on Burnett Ministries conference call Bible study, studies carefully. He, his wife, and I go over the lessons together at another time. I calling it “fine tuning” since none of us are one hundred percent. We are careful about what is taught, because what is told to others, they share with others, which is good.

I plan to continue with the other gifts from our Father on tomorrow – he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness (Romans 12:6-8).

Fulfill God’s purpose and you will hear our Savior say “WELL DONE’
