The Power of Good and The Powers of Evil 6-1-26

Unity Builds the Church; Disunity Tears it Apart!
There are two kinds of powers when there is unity – both good and evil. Another kind of power is in the tongue. Since the message about Pentecost was written and the power that was given to believers, I felt that this would be a blessing to follow up with the powers of unity, whether good or evil.
Let’s go back to the Old Testament about the people building a tower.
Now the whole earth had one language and one speech. And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar, and they dwelt there. Then they said to one another, “Come, let us make bricks and bake them thoroughly.”
They had brick for stone, and they had asphalt for mortar. And they said, Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top is in the heavens; let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth.
But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men had built. And the Lord said, Indeed the people are one and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them.
Come, let Us [the Trinity] go down and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.
So, the Lord scattered them abroad from there over the face of all the earth, and they ceased building the city. Therefore, its name is called Babel, because there the Lord confused the language of all the earth; and from there the Lord scattered them abroad over the face of all the earth (Genesis 11:1-9).
God had to stop them because they were trying to reach the heavens and since they were on one accord, they would have been unstoppable. This tells how much power people have when they are on one accord.
Now that you know how much power there is when people are unified, there is no power when there is disunity. The sad thing is the devils/demons are not in opposition to each other, but even so their power is limited because God id the highest authority. The Supreme and Sovereign, and He has the power to stop all other powers.
The Lord God has given us power over the demons, but the only way that can happen is, the church has to be in unity.
Example of a church being divided- And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual people but as to carnal, as to babes in Christ. I fed you with milk and not with solid food; for until now you were not able to receive it, and even now you are still not able; for you are still carnal.
For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and behaving like mere men? For when one says, “I am of Paul,” and another, “I am of Apollos,” are you not carnal? (1 Corinthians 3:1-4).
This division was about the people putting leaders on a pedestal, basically saying one was better than the other, which was cliquish.
Notice at the beginning of the church age: When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place (Acts 2:1).
“Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house [church] divided against itself will not stand (Matthew 12:25, Mark 3:25).
Let’s take heed and strive to be in unity with one another. This message is for all the people of God, including pastors who cause division among their congregants.
