Understanding the Divine: Titles of God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit 4-9-26

Although there are many titles of the Triune God, I am putting emphasis on Alpha and Omega - “I am the Alpha and the Omega…the Almighty” (Revelation 1:8). Christ shares this name and title.
Hallowing God’s Name - In the Lord’s Prayer: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name” (Matthew 6:9). Honoring God’s name lines up with His kingdom and His will. That’s why I was led to say the Model Prayer; it is a prayer directive that Jesus gave to and for all His disciples.
And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And He said, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you (Exodus 3:14).
God the Father and Jesus have the same title- Before Abraham was I Am - Jesus answered, “If I honor Myself, My honor is nothing. It is My Father who honors Me, of whom you say that He is your God. Yet you have not known Him, but I know Him.
And if I say, ‘I do not know Him,’ I shall be a liar like you; but I do know Him and keep His word. Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad.
” Then the Jews said to Him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?” Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.” Then they took up stones to throw at Him; but Jesus hid Himself and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by (John 8:54-59).
Three in One- (Genesis 1:26). God, the Father, Jesus Christ, and Holy Spirit- God initiated the plan, Jesus carried out the plan by creating and redeeming a lost world to God; the Holy Spirit is the Power behind the plan.
For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse (Romans 1:20). The Triune God- One God in three persons; God the Father, God the Son, and God the Spirit.
He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you (John 16:14). All three persons of the Trinity are co-equal and co-eternal, sharing the same divine essence-baptizing in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19). Each person of Trinity has unique roles but works in perfect unity (John 10:30).
One not greater than the other – divine order of the Godhead. For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness on earth: the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these three agree as one (1 John 7:5-9).
For many years I have disagreed with clergy attaching reverend to their names as a title. It was at the time I was associate minister that the pastor detached reverend from his name and during that same time period many pastors were doing the same thing.
In searching out what others older and seasoned men in the ministry said, it was a blessing to find someone who is on the same that I’m on. Praise the Lord!
From those men-
Holy and reverend is his name- the name of God is “holy;” it is his nature, and appears in all his works; and in which he is glorious, and so is reverend; he is to be feared and reverenced by all his creatures, and among his saints, as he is by the angels in heaven (John Gill)
Excerpt from Charles Spurgeon How good men can endure to be called “reverend” we know not. Being unable to discover any reason why our fellow men should reverence us, we half suspect that in other men there is not very much which can entitle them to be called reverend, very reverend, right reverend, and so on. It may seem a trifling matter, but for that very reason, we would urge that the foolish custom should be allowed to fall into disuse.
Others say it is okay to honor those people with certain handles/titles, but what does the Word of God say?
