We are Living Epistles (Letters) How are Others Reading Us? 11-24-25

The point that I am trying to make is how people view us:
1) There are some negative things said about Christians because of the world looks at us. They expect us to be perfect. However, our bodies are sinful, because we live in a fallen world; thanks be to God our bodies are not the real us. Our inward man is perfect because the Spirit of God who lives in us is perfect; old things are passed away and we have become new (2 Corinthians 5:17).
2) Let’s flip the other side of the coin. When the world looks at us because we are walking upright, that is a different story. Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you. (Matthew 5:11-12).
3) What about the way we are viewed when we are allowing our fleshly desires to take precedence (being more important) over the Spirit? How do you think the Spirit feels? He is grieved (sad). And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption (Ephesians 4:30).
Bottom line is this: People are watching (reading) us. We are the only Bible some of them will see; so, what do they see when they read us? Are they seeing us as a turn-off and never want to step their foot inside a church? Are they seeing us doing everything they do and we become laughingstock, or a mockery because of our ungodly behavior?
If you truly belong to Christ, others should Christ in you; He is written in our hearts and everyone should see the Spirit in us manifested outwardly. You are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read by all men; clearly you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart (2 Corinthians 3:2).
Let this challenge bring conviction if you are not a living epistle (letter). Allow the Spirit of God to help you to be the letter that everyone will see your light when they read you. If your light is dim, then you are misread. It’s hard to see or read clearly when the light is dim (Matthew 5:13-16).
