Why are There so Many Translations of the Bible? 10-15-26
Updated: 1 day ago
Man’s way rather God’s way.
There are numerous translations, and just as cults are on the rise so are Bible translations. Before diving into the message, le me say this. I use a translation other than the King James Authorized Version.
However, for many years in my early walk with the Lord, it was difficult for me to understand the thou’s and ye’s. So, when the Lord knew I was ready for His Word that was understandable to me, I added several translations to my volume, of which are used for a comparison. I don’t tell anyone which translation to use.
I certainly believe the modern translation is necessary, yet there are so many that it can be confusing. When an upgrade is done in the home, it enhances the appearance but does not take away or make it look worse. I am not telling anyone what translation to use; this is what I did. Since the Authorized King James Bible was one of the originals, I upgraded to the New King James Version. I always have the original nearby for comparison.
Martin Luther's Ninety-Five Theses primarily addressed the sale of indulgences and other church practices rather than errors in the Catholic Bible itself. The theses criticized the Church's corruption and the misuse of indulgences, emphasizing salvation through faith alone rather than through works or purchases. Luther's actions sparked the Protestant Reformation, challenging the authority of the Catholic Church.
The reason Christians are called protestants is because Martin Luther found out and exposed the erroneous doctrine of the Roman Catholic church. Thank the Lord for people like Martin Luther who challenged erroneous doctrine and the tradition of men.
My personal belief is, if there was something extra God wanted me to learn that was relevant, I believe it would have remained in the specific text we use today.
Watch out for those who add or take away the Word of God deliberately. For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book:
If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. (Revelation 22:18-19).
Remember this, everything was not written. And there are also many other things that Jesus did, which if they were written one by one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that would be written. Amen (John 21:25).
Dig a little deeper! Know your history.
