Are You in the Right Lane?
Peter spoke to the audience on the day of Pentecost about Joel the prophet’s prophetic word in the Old Testament, that manifested in the New Testament at the beginning of the church age. The prophecy was confirmed on the day of Pentecost.
Women Preachers- And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions. And also, on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days (Joel 2:28, Acts 2:14-18).
All of God’s children, whether male or female are called to preach (proclaim) the Word of God.
Women Pastors - Misunderstood scripture: This is a scripture that many people use to justify that women can be pastors. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus (Galatians 3:28).
Explanation: This has nothing to do with females being pastors. There was a time when only the Jews were the people of God; the Gospel went to the Jews first and then to the Gentiles. He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God (John 1:11-12).
When it comes to the great debate and divide about whether women are called by God to be pastors, I believe according to the Word of God that had and still has a divine order and that settles it.
Women Teachers – And I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence.1 (1 Timothy 2:12). Why did Paul say that?
Excerpt from John McArthur’s footnotes: Paul is not prohibiting women from teaching in the appropriate conditions and circumstances. Paul forbids women from exercising any authority over men in the church assembly.
Note: I am going a step further, a woman should not exercise authority over her husband either; he is her covering (1 Corinthians 11:3). For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. Therefore, just as the church is subject to
Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything (Ephesians 5:22-24).
It was Paul who commended Aquila and Priscilla (husband and wife) for teaching out their home. Greet Priscilla and Aquila, my fellow workers in Christ Jesus, who risked their own necks for my life, to whom not only I give thanks, but also all the churches of the Gentiles. Likewise greet the church that is in their house (Romans 16:3).
To rightly divide the Word, this does not in any way say that a woman cannot teach, even in a public place, but it must be done decently and in order (1 Corinthians 14:40).
Please do your own personal study to see if what is being said is true.
I was ordained into ministry in 2002.
