There are so many negative things going on worldwide, yet positive things are happening too. It reminds me of Jesus coming into a cold and cruel world full of darkness, but amidst all the darkness He brought light (John 12:46).
And that’s what my point is today. Despite all the negativity, I want to put emphasis on the positive. Since Jesus is no longer on the earth, He left His light to all born again believers. However, it’s up to them how bright their light shines (Matthew 5:13-16). There are some people whose morals stand out because of their caring hearts. That’s what I experienced many times, while living in Lindenwold. I don’t allow the negative talk effect me; in fact it motivates me to speak about the good things versus the bad.
Within the last week, I was blessed to be involved with some great events that lifted my spirit and motivated me to continue writing about various events and things that are happening in the community where I reside. First of all, I love the borough of Lindenwold New Jersey of which the Lord has ordained for me to live.
My recent experiences-
1) Ladies from the church and ladies from a hospital who spoke at the event.
A “Breast Cancer Awareness Month” event was hosted by some ladies from one of my niece’s church. It was fun and spiritual the facilitators played a question and answer game about breast cancer. Prizes were given to the ones who had the most answers. A testimonial was given and it was very touching because the Lord was in her story and she was not ashamed to give Him glory.
Most places where an event is taking place, food is provided, and at this event, several food items and beverages were plentiful; people love to eat. It was a blessing to meet and fellowship with women of the faith, which made it better. Thanks to you beautiful women of God who are sacrificing their time to serve others.
2) Police Department celebrate – Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
At a meeting that I attended, a police officer was there and he had on a pink breast cancer badge. That was impressive and I had the opportunity to tell him that I was a two year breast cancer survivor. I wanted to take a picture of him; he said we could take one together and I handed a lady my phone and she took a couple of pictures of the officer and me.
A few days later, a friend and I went to the police department because I wanted to ask permission from the captain to do a story. That’s when he told me how the departments celebrate “Prostate Cancer” and it was suggested that around mid November after their beards were growing; from the first of November until the end of December they do not shave (grow beards honoring “Prostate Cancer”). I agreed and was delighted that the police chief would allow me to post a story about thee Lindenwold police and how they are a blessing to this community.
I have observed the Lindenwold police there is evidence of their being dedicated to serving the citizens. Thank you, Lindenwold police for your service. Thank God for all police who serve as God has ordained you to protect your communities in the most dangerous times in history (Romans 13:1).
3) Fire Department –
On October sixteenth, they blessed us tenants with information that will keep us safe. The fire department comes around annually with vital information to make the tenants feel good about where we live, they provide us with information to make life better for us. Although we are basically in a safe environment, danger is still around; therefore no one is exempt. Thanks to firemen who sacrifice their time and lives to be of service to others. Let’s continue to pray for all first responders.
Ps. Do your best to make things better.
