Embracing Whatever the Season is

Updated: Jul 30

To Everything There is a Reason and a Season 7-30-24

Sometimes family and friends send me scripture images that I find to be quite interesting. One friend in particular feels that messages can be written, and that is so true. So, for this season, I will post messages pertaining to certain images that have been sent to me.

Words on image – Nothing can happen without God’s permission, and God will not allow a difficulty unless He has a divine purpose for it. King Solomon penned it this way: To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven (Ecclesiastes 3:1).

Also, whatever God allows to happen for the good of those who are the called for His purpose. And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28). What do I mean by the called? Everybody that was, is, and will be born was born for God’s purpose. But those who are born again, God’s purpose for their/our lives always work out for good.

Example- Joseph was sold into slavery by his brothers; little did anyone know that this was God’s plan. God allowed Joseph to go from the pit (prison) to being next to the king in the palace. God used Joseph to deliver his family from a great famine.

To Joseph being sold -

Come and let us sell him to the Ishmaelites, and let not our hand be upon him, for he is our brother and our flesh. And his brothers listened. Then Midianite traders passed by; so, the brothers pulled Joseph up and lifted him out of the pit and sold him to the Ishmaelites for twenty shekels of silver. And they took Joseph to Egypt (Genesis 37:27-28).

Now the Midianites had sold him in Egypt to Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh and captain of the guard (Genesis 37:36).

Joseph elevated -Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, Inasmuch as God has shown you all this, there is no one as discerning and wise as you. You shall be over my house, and all my people shall be ruled according to your word; only in regard to the throne will I be greater than you.  And Pharaoh said to Joseph, “See, I have set you over all the land of Egypt.”

Then Pharaoh took his signet ring off his hand and put it on Joseph’s hand; and he clothed him in garments of fine linen and put a gold chain around his neck. And he had him ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried out before him, “Bow the knee!” So, he set him over all the land of Egypt (Genesis 41:39-43).

Joseph's family in Egypt -

God used Joseph to deliver his family from a great famine. He sent for his family to come to Egypt. When Joseph's brothers found out he was their brother, fear gripped them. Joseph ended up embracing them.

Joseph forgave his brothers -

Joseph said to them, “Do not be afraid, for am I in the place of God? But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive. Now therefore, do not be afraid; I will provide for you and your little ones.” And he comforted them and spoke kindly to them (Genesis 50:19-21).

I wrote about “The Sin of Unforgiveness” recently, didn’t realize it was going to come up again; and so soon. Do you think God would have elevated Joseph if he had not forgiven his brothers of what they did against him? The formula or recipe for God’s kind of success is to allow God’s will to be done in our lives.
