Whenever possible, a niece or a group of my nieces will take me on a day trip, and it is such a blessing to know how they feel about me and I am included in their activities/events. I feel so special, and being that I am not a biological mother, it makes me feel extra special to know that they love and respect me.
They also bless me in other ways that exemplifies their love toward me. I am truly blessed in my older rising senior years to still be physically and mentally active; to move about and be involved in certain programs that the Lord uses for my benefit.
On Friday, my niece drove us to Wilmington, Delaware to hang out and get some history. During my many years of traveling, I have not been to Wilmington; I only passed through on I95 either going to or from Philadelphia. Sot his short trip was an adventurous blessing.

My niece planned our day and it was like clockwork; all praise to the Lord. All I did was enjoy the ride (she drove), and everything else that went with our day trip package deal. We ate an early lunch at a real nice restaurant; from there we toured the “Historic District” on Market Street in the heart of the downtown area.

While walking in the area we saw two restaurants that were adjacent to each other, with outside seating. It was so unique that each one had special décor to differentiate between the two, and they had different menus, but they belonged to one owner.

The Museum was also a place of interest since some parts of history are very dear to my heart. The Wilmington Museum had so much history, and we were not aware of it. We spent approximately two hours getting as much information as possible. Many photos were taken; there were so many pictures that it was said how we it would be a great idea to use them for African American History Month.

From there, we made our way to another part of the Historic area where old houses were moved from another area to this particular place and restored, which is a part of Historic area and landmark. While we were reading about history, we saw a beautiful high rise across the street that perked our interest; we were trying to figure out what kind of building it was, so we went across the street.
Looking around in the lobby, we were trying to find someone who would provide information about the apartment complex. Finally, after talking to someone in maintenance and a resident, the manager appeared and since she was giving someone else a tour, we were permitted to do our own tour on the first floor. This was a luxurious place for real! There is a “WOW!” for everything we saw.
The lobby and café area were amazing! A pool room and a gym were across the hall from each other. We visited the courtyard, that just had us flabbergasted- ping pong table, corn holes, two stainless steel grills, a TV area, an area to relax and sip. And a swimming pool, that’s what I call living! That would be a perfect place for my niece with a fifty minute commute (just a joke), but for me, I am content with where the Lord has me.
Although physical limitations are kicking in, still, the best is yet to come. I stand on the Word of God for everything, and that definitely includes my older age. Even to your old age, I am He, and even to gray hairs I will carry you! I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you (Isaiah 46:4).
Years ago, I used to see people who thought they could do more than they could. I am just learning and experiencing how true that is. My mind says I can do this or that, but my body says something different. I may look alright, and compared to some others, I am tremendously blessed to be able to move about and be in my right mind, thank You Jesus!
Although I am a Rising aged Senior, the best is still yet to come, because my days and years just get better. For instance, the Friday trip to Wilmington was a way for me being pampered. Thank the Lord for all the people He places in my path to give me a better quality of life.
