Luck, Born by a Sign, and More 5-6-25

Anyone who continues to use the word “LUCK” is not as mature as they think they are. Mature Christians know better, they will not use such unbiblical truths because it makes the look bad- Satan laughs at them. How do you think God feels about His children saying things that are superstitious or saying they were born by a sign. What sign?

It was God who caused us to be born, therefore we were not born by a sign, but by Divine providence; He is supreme and all things happen because of the Lord God Almighty.  What about a black cat crossing the road causing bad luck, God is not a God of chance nor is He a God of luck. He is full of blessings. I have no idea what someone says “Good luck” to me. It would sound absolutely absurd to to “God luck you”- Is anyone ashamed to say, “God bless you?”

To those who don’t know the difference between blessings and luck, maybe they need to read the Bible; luck is not in it. Any person who professes to be born again and believe in rabbit’s foot for good luck, or say they were born by a sign, and is superstitious, really doesn’t understand the Awesome God Almighty. Not only that, how does God get glorified when you’re believing what is contrary to His Word.

Before my relationship with Jesus Christ, I believed in all that foolishness. I also believed that I was born by a sign and someone gave me a  nice size wooden cancer ornament, and I kept it on display so others could see it. I don’t remember how long I held on to it after my salvation, but at some point all those ungodly beliefs were no longer a part of me.

A few days ago, one of the tenants asked me what my sign was; I told him I didn’t have a sign, but years ago I was told it was cancer because of the month I was born in.  After experiencing a bout with cancer, even if I was still unsaved, that word alone would be horrible to me.

There are so many worldly (ungodly) things we can get caught up in and think they are innocent. Someone may say, “What can Christians do?” I do many things that are innocent. My life is not dull; it is so enjoyable.

As a matter of fact, the Word of God says this:

Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy (1 Timothy 6:17). There are so many things in this life that God has given us to enjoy. However, they cannot be compared to what He has in store for us.

If you are born again and still adhere to ungodly things, please let them go, and ask the Lord to forgive you for holding on to certain ungodly beliefs. You could be like the Apostle Paul who said he did something ignorantly.

Although I was formerly a blasphemer, a persecutor, and an insolent man; but I obtained mercy because I did it ignorantly in unbelief (1 Timothy 1:13). All of us have and may still do some things ignorantly, but we learn better, we are expected to do better.
