Opinions Never Win Against Facts!

Opinions or Facts – A Renewed Mind (The Challenge)

Before I go into the message, let’s see what the word opinion means - a view or judgment formed about something, not necessarily based on fact or knowledge. Now to what fact means - a thing that is known or proved to be true. Now that those meanings are established, we will move on.

Further down the page are a list of some of the scriptures that are not being rightly divided. Why? It could be several reasons, but the main has to be because someone is looking at the Word and misinterpreting it. One must remember if the Word of God can be rightly divided, it can also be wrongly divided.

When I think of the word being divided, my mind goes back to High school and the Biology teacher dissected a frog to examine every part of it. Well, as I was looking in the concordance for the meaning of rightly divided, this is what I found.

Key Word Bible Concordance- to dissect (expound- to present and explain in detail) correctly the Divine message – that is what rightly dividing means.

There is no reason for us to be ignorant when to the Word when God has so many resources  or help aids for us. Yet, we are quick to give someone the Gospel, which could come out of our mouths erroneously.

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear (1 Peter 3:15).

Meekness means to show love and patience, even in the face of adversity. Fear means with reverence for God, and if one does not respect his fellow man, he does not reverence God.

If you are not sure what to say, be honest, or tell the person you will find the answer and get back with later. After all none of us know everything.

And make sure that you don’t have debates about God’s Word. If the Word is not agreed upon by both parties, just keep quiet. But avoid foolish and ignorant disputes, knowing that they generate strife (2 Timothy 2:23).

These are some of the scriptures that will be used in this series.

  • The Lord is not willing that any should perish ……. (2 Peter 3:9)

  • If the righteous scarcely be saved, where will the sinner appear (1 Peter 4:18)

  • All have sinned and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23)

  • We (Christians are sinners)? We are sinners saved by grace – haven’t found that one.

  • A Christian can lose their salvation- can’t find that either

  • There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for you are all one in Christ Jesus (Galatians 3:28)

  • If you don’t use it, you will lose it – Oh well, someone tell me if you can find it.

  • We have an old nature and a new nature- are we two different people? Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde

  • Jesus is Light of the world - What did Jesus say? (John 9:5, Matthew 5:14-16).

  • If one spouse is living, the other spouse cannot divorce them (Romans 7:1-3)

Other misunderstood scriptures may be posted later.
