Prayers of Hope for the Distressed

Watching the news and being involved in many activities during the Christmas season, many people who were not as fortunate as some others received blessings from numerous resources that the Lord provided through. It was absolutely wonderful to see the big hearted people sacrificing their time, effort, and resources to be a blessing to others.

I saw LOVE in action! That’s what Christmas is about anyway. Jesus Christ came into the world with greatest kind of LOVE.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16).

The Christmas story is the beginning of the plan for new life. Jesus had to be born; He walked among people; Jesus suffered and died the most horrible kind of death (crucifixion); BUT He got up never to die again. The God/Man made all this possible for us to have eternal life.

I don’t take this lightly. While spending time with many people during the holiday events, I saw LOVE in action. On Christmas day, precious and valuable time spent with some family members was certainly a blessing. The food was prepared with love; there was love in the fellowship, and love was displayed in giving.

Although I don’t have children, some family members blessed me, and during the season many other blessings came. I thank the Lord for those who honor and respect the elderly by reaching out to them, including myself, through their extension of Love in action.  Please don’t forget the elderly; they paid their dues and this is the time for them to be receiving in abundance.

With that being said, others may not have experienced the manifold blessings that the Lord showered on some.

My prayer is this:

ree

Father I pray that your children will be sensitive to those you place in their path who are distressed; that Your people will be caring and concerned about the welfare of those who are in distress; that we as Your people will not be selfish; that we would share Your Love like never before. Thank You Father for providing Your people with various resources to assist others. In Jesus name, Amen.

“Rise in the presence of the elderly and honor the aged. Fear your God. I am the Lord.” (Leviticus 19:32)-

This is a command from God.

Has that changed with God?

Of course not! Where is respect?

“Gray hair is a crown of splendor; it is attained in the way of righteousness.” ( Proverbs 16:31).

“Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.” (Romans 12:10)

That’s Love,
