I felt it would be an injustice not to post a tribute of Brother Coley Cheek, the late husband of our dear beloved sister in Christ, a friend and an asset to Burnett Ministries.
To the Cheek Family:
Burnett Ministries extends our sincerest condolences during this difficult time to the family of Coley Cheek and his wife Thelma, who is an officer of Burnett Ministries. We mourn because of your loss; and we want you to know how much Bro. Coley’s loss has affected us. Man’s days are numbered. (Job 14) But that doesn’t make his passing any easier to understand. Through it all, we praise God for the time He allowed Bro. Coley to be in our lives, the impact he had on our lives and the everlasting memories he left for all of us during the many great fellowships we had with him on various occasions.
For comfort, we look to God’s Word. He has promised to bestow on them that mourn, a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. (Isaiah 61:3) He also promised that they that sow in tears shall reap in joy. (Psalm 126:5) Christ is our Joy-giver who releases us from bondage that sorrow brings, in knowing that your loved one is with the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:8) Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: ………… that they may rest from their labors; and their works do follow them. (Revelation 14:13) Until then reflect on these:
