I am putting two stories together how we are bussed to the centers, we have on site events in our community room different universities, and several programs. that keeps us busy and motivated. We have food delivered to us weekly from a couple of places, and fruits, vegetables, and meats once a month.
Thank the Lord for management, social coordinator, and maintenance whom the Lord uses to be blessings to us. One of thee most recent programs was WISE a program to help seniors be motivated to live a better life in their older (golden) years. The program coordinator also arranged to take us to Atlantic City on September 26th.
Wednesday was her last day of the six week WISE program until next spring. We were blessed with a delicious lunch, more information to help us feel better about ourselves as seniors, a Wise Certificate of Completion, a throw blanket, and a gift card! Such a blessing, and what more could we ask for?
On Wednesday, October 8th, the county had a Senior Health Fair, and it was great. Live entertainment, lunch, prizes, flu shots were given, all kinds of treats and this is really the kicker!
When the band started playing and singing, those seniors were going to floor and they had more life than I thought. Some were in their nineties and they could put me to shame. They were on the dance floor moving to the beat of those awesome musicians who played and sung those back in the day songs that brought life to the people. It was a blessing just to see them; boy could and did they have fun!
This is a story to encourage those who need to be motivated to keep it moving. Although I have one attack after the other in my body, I press forward despite the pain. And thank the Lord also that despite the body afflictions, I am still mobile.
