God’s Comfort, and His People’s Comfort
Thank you family and friends for the loving support, encouragement, words of comfort and most of all, your prayers for the Troutman, Blakney, and Burnett families. I felt the love of God through your caring hearts and concern, and so did any of my family who saw my Facebook page.
Our family suffered a big blow; it was painful, it hurt so bad; it was like a STING, but God’s grace was and it still is sufficient for whatever we go through. I want to share about the word STING. Last Sunday I attended a funeral service, and the pastor spoke about the sting that is felt when someone passes.
Since I knew what the Bible said about the sting of death-So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: Death is swallowed up in victory. O Death, where is your sting? O grave, where is your victory? The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 15:54-57).
For the children of God, there is no sting when death comes, we really don’t die; we are ushered by the angels into the presence of the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:8). Hallelujah! But for our loved ones who are taken from us, there is that painful STING that we experience due to their earthly loss.
These verses are very comforting to the believer. Aren’t you glad that the mental Sting is temporary? Praise the Lord saints! Thanks again for allowing the Lord to use you to express His Love to us.
Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God (2 Corinthians 1:3-4).
Blessings on this Memorial Day Weekend!
