Angels - male figures
And when the angel stretched out his hand upon Jerusalem to destroy it, the LORD repented him of the evil, and said to the angel that destroyed the people, It is enough: stay now thine hand. And the angel of the LORD was by the threshing place of Araunah the Jebusite (2 Samuel 24:16)
Angels of the Seven Churches (pastors/ministers)
I am adding this important element that was not in yesterday’s message. It has to do with the gender that the angels take on. You will never see anything in the Word of God where angels take on the form of females.
The two instances that were written about the fallen angels definitely shows that angels appear in the form of males. There are a few reasons that I believe this according to the Word of God. They have extraordinary strength, they are powerful, and they are huge.
The devil has fooled so many people by having them to think angels are also in the female gender. His purpose is to make the children of God look foolish, and that happens because they don’t search the scriptures.
In Genesis, angels were called the sons of God who took the daughters of men; in Job and Genesis they are called sons of God. Remember this, there is no gender when it comes to angels, they have the ability to take on the form of a male. The other thing is they were given male names and further confirmation is in Genesis, chapter nineteen. Please read Verses 1-27.
Now the two angels came to Sodom in the evening, and Lot was sitting in the gate of Sodom. When Lot saw them, he rose to meet them, and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground. And he said, here now, my lords, please turn into your servant’s house and spend the night and wash your feet; then you may rise early and go on your way.
And they said, no, but we will spend the night in the open square. But he insisted strongly; so, they turned to him and entered his house. Then he made them a feast, and baked unleavened bread, and they ate. Now before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Sodom, both old and young, all the people from every quarter, surrounded the house. And they called Lot and said to him, where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us that we may know them [to know-have sex with them] (Genesis 19:5).
The angels of the Seven Churches
Angels, messengers, and pastors bring good tidings (sent to announce and proclaim). The book was written at the time the church was undergoing persecution and difficulty (history- KJV keynote study Bible
Jesus was telling John to write to the seven churches commending them and warning some of them at the same time.
1) When Jesus told John to write to the seven churches in the book of Revelation, he addressed each pastor as “Angel” To the angel of the church of Ephesus write (Revelation 2:1)- did a good work but left their first love.
2) And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write (Revelation 2:8)- great persecution.
3) And to the angel of the church in Pergamos write (Revelation 2:12)-The church under imperial favor, settled in the world.
4) And to the angel of the church in Thyatira write (Revelation 2:18)- The triumph of Balaam and Nicolaitans, a believing remnant. A 16th-century movement for the reform of abuses in the Roman Catholic Church ending in the establishment of the Reformed and Protestant Churches.
5) And to the angel of the church in Sardis write (Revelation 3:1)- The period of reformation; a believing remnant.
6) And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write (Revelation 3:7)- The true church in the professing church.
7) And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write (Revelation 3:14)-The dead church.
Notice that the responsibility was on the pastors (angels), after all they were the leaders. Do you see the church you are attending in one of the seven churches?
