Who are the One Hundred and Forty Four Thousand?

This has been an up in the air question for many years, and because there is a lack of understanding, I’ll do my best to explain and give the answer but first let’s get some history: The Hebrews/Jews were and they still are God’s covenant people.

As for Me, behold, My covenant is with you, and you shall be a father of many nations. No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham; for I have made you a father of many nations. I will make you exceedingly fruitful; and I will make nations of you, and kings shall come from you.  And I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you in their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and your descendants after you (Genesis 17:5-7).

God made a covenant with nation of Israel.  Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people; for all the earth is Mine (Exodus 19:5).

Many Jews did not keep God’s covenant; they rejected Jesus as Messiah. Palm Sunday - They  took branches of palm trees and went out to meet Him and cried out: “Hosanna! ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’ The King of Israel!” (John 12:13).

The very next week they cried And they all cried out at once, saying, “Away with this Man, and release to us Barabbas” who had been thrown into prison for a certain rebellion made in the city, and for murder. Pilate, therefore, wishing to release Jesus, again called out to them. But they shouted, saying, “Crucify Him, crucify Him!” (Luke 23:18-20).

Many Jews accepted Jesus as their Messiah; they are called Messianic Jews.

History – The Jews were expecting Jesus to set up His kingdom and free them from being heavily oppressed by the Romans. The Spirit told me quite a few years ago to study the language and the culture of the people. If history is left out, there is no full meaning or understanding.

Who are God’s special people now? But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light (1 Peter 2:9).

Now to the tribulation- Only the unsaved will go through the tribulation, which will be going on while all the saints are in heaven with Jesus. The Covenant that God kept will be take place; the Jews will be saved during the tribulation. 144,000 will evangelize the world.

And he cried with a loud voice to the four angels to whom it was granted to harm the earth and the sea, saying,

“Do not harm the earth, the sea, or the trees till we have sealed the servants of our God on their foreheads.”

And I heard the number of those who were sealed. One hundred and forty-four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel were sealed (Revelation 7:2-4). By His election, God will seal 12,000 from each of the twelve tribes of Israel. This is the Covenant that God made and it cannot be broken.

ABOVE ALL, GET UNDERSTANDING OF GOD'S WORD.
