Walking in Freedom Helps One To Be Assured Of Who They Are In Christ 9-9-26

Deeply Embedded Roots That Haunted People All Their Life

It is true that we are free in Christ, but as long as we are on this earth, there will be something that we need to be delivered from. Some things happen immediately and other things take time. As we grow we see more things that we need to be set free from. In this case, it is gradually being set free, remember that Rome was not built in a day.

Same thing with family history – not knowing the history causes lifetime problems if there is no background information. There are deeply embedded roots in all of our lives, and with that being so, unless we know what they are, we will not be able to live out a life of freedom. Those roots can be harmful if not addressed and set free from them. Hidden knowledge or skeletons in the closet keeps us bound.

For instance, continual growth causes us to see more things from our past that keeps surfacing. The more I grow in Christ, the more I see things that I need to be delivered from and one has been prevalent for many years that stemmed all the way back to when I was about eight years old. Something happened that caused me to be gripped with fear (deeply embedded root), and though I would minister in different capacities, fear was still there and it was by the grace of God that there was a successful outcome.

The Lord orchestrated circumstances me to reside near the place where that deeply embedded root started and He allowed some situations to come up to help me recognize the fear, deal with it and overcome that horrible root. At times the enemy still uses it against me. Although Jesus has set me free, Satan intimidates me and the next thing I know fear is there again.

These are scriptures the Spirit brought to my mind- Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage (Galatians 5:1). The scripture plainly tells us that we can be trapped back into the same bondage.

 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). This verse is concise in saying that fear is a spirit, and that fear comes from the devil.

There is a healthy fear (reverence) in knowing that we must depend on the Lord. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and depart from evil. (Proverbs 3:5-7).

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect [mature] in love (1 John 4:18).

Remember this, Jesus came to set the captive free (Isaiah 61:1). This includes salvation, all deeply embedded roots anything else that has held you captive. Pray and ask the Lord to show you what core root has you still bound, face it, confront it and deal with it. Then and only then will you walk in freedom. Also, the Lord has people who have been graced with the call to help you.
