Yesterday, I wrote about seeing things from God’s perspective, which is clear, rather than seeing things from our perspective, which is cloudy. Although we live in a natural world according to time, and what we see in the Word of God is true according to the time we live in.
For instance, when it comes to the Word of God, this it is like this: But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
For by grace, you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them (Ephesians 2:4-10).
Sin separates us from God: But your iniquities have separated you from your God; And your sins have hidden His face from you, So that He will not hear (Isaiah 59:2). That’s the reason Jesus became sin for us; and when He hung on the cross with the weight of the world’s sin on Him, He was temporarily separated from God the Father. And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lama Sabathani?” that is, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” (Matthew 27:46).
Before He went to the cross and while He was in the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus asked God to take the cup from Him. saying, “Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless, not My will, but Yours, be done” (Luke 22:42).
Even His humanity, Jesus knew that dying for the sins of the world will be a most horrible experience, yet He was willing to do it for us. When Jesus said, “It is finished,” everything was taken care, our past present and future sins were taken care of when He shed His precious blood.
By the way, our sins are not covered like the people in the Old Testament through imperfect animal sacrifices. The Perfect Lamb of God cleansed all our sins. Our slate is clean, praised God!
When we sin, we are never separated from God. What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies.
Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? (Romans 8:29); we are out of fellowship, not relationship. That’s why it is necessary to confess our sins to God (1 John 1:9).
From our perspective we walk through time, yet we are expected to look beyond what our natural life is and see things like God sees them. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8). Look at words while we were (past tense). Sin longer has dominion (power) over us. For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace (Romans 6:14).
I certainly believe this message today will bring more confirmation to who you are in Christ, and how the Lord God Almighty sees us. Lord willing, tomorrow’s message will be, Jesus, Our Perfect Mouthpiece
