Thanks Be to God, We are Not Condemned
Anyone who falls short of God’s glory is not born again (Romans 3:23). ALL have sinned and fall short is for those who were not saved. Once we are born again this is what God says about us – He glorified. (stop trying to change the Word of God).
I have written before- God’s perspective is clear! He is not confined to time or space, there is no beginning nor end with Him, therefor from His perspective everything has already been done. For instance, Jesus was slain before the foundation of the world (Revelation 13:8), that means we were born again before the foundation of the world.
Before I formed you in the womb I knew [relationship] you; [He had a relationship with us]. Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations (Jeremiah 1:5).
Remember Jesus was slain. And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world (Revelation 13:8). Again, everything had already taken place, even our relationship with God.
Not easily understood, this is where trust comes in (Proverbs 3:5-6). Once a person is born again he or she is spiritual because the Spirit of God lives in them; so, they are to think like God thinks. His ways are higher. We need to come out of our natural mindset and think spiritually minded. That’s why we need to set our affections on things above Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.
For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God (Colossians 3:2-3). For to be carnally minded is death [misery], but to be spiritually minded is life and peace (Romans 8:6).
Condemnation is a result of Adam’s fall which brings sin and shame (Genesis 3:6-7).
Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned [past tense] (Romans 5:12). Adam and Eve lost their innocence, but the last Adam, Jesus Christ took care of that. And so, it is written, the first man Adam became a living being. The last Adam became a life-giving spirit (1 Corinthians 15:45).
He took on our guilt and shame He was condemned so we would be the righteousness of Him. For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him (2 Corinthians 5:21).
There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1). And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called (chosen) according to His purpose [Divine providence] For whom He foreknew [God knew beforehand], He also predestined [predetermined] to be conformed [fashioned into] to the image [likeness of] of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.
Moreover, whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified [innocent]; and whom He justified, these He also glorified (Romans 8:28-30). Let’s look at the word that has many confused- glorified. As was said before from God’s perspective everything has already been done. He sees us through the eyes of perfection (our new born spirit is perfect).
What about this sin issue?
Did Jesus sin, was He a sinner?
Did He fall short of God’s glory?
Since we are in Him, we’re not sinners either, even though we sin (miss the mark). The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; for the Lord upholds him with His hand (Psalm 37:23-24).
Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? (Romans 8:33-35).
For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ (Galatians 3:27). We have not only put on Christ, but we are also in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17). And you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power (Colossians 2:10).
My brothers and sisters, how much more can be said to let you know that you are not a sinner; you fall into sin, miss the mark, etc. What else can be said to convince you that that born again believers cannot fall short of God’s glory, that’s a double standard.
The Holy Spirit is God’s glory, the perfect One who lives in you.
